“The Analytical Center’s agenda is full of matters pertaining to the digitalization and digital transformation of various sectors. The forum in Kazan has brought together IT industry experts and has demonstrated new technologies and best available practices. Russian and foreign companies have presented their digital solutions for healthcare, education, industries, the agro-industrial sector, transport, traffic safety, and communication. According to the organizers, the forum aims to provide an annual platform for scientific, technical and commercial communication between developers and users of technologies, products and services of the digital transformation. I have no doubt that several days of busy work will ensure the achievement of this target and will give a strong impetus to further digital transformation in our country,” Konstantin Kalinin said at the end of the forum’s first day.
A meeting of the Tatarstan government, held on the forum sidelines and dedicated to topical aspects of the digital transformation of manufacturing and energy enterprises, reiterated the need to support enterprises.
“The digital transformation of industries is an issue relevant to everyone,” Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said. “While the authorities are taking systemic efforts in the field of digital transformation, many enterprises are just at the outset of their path. We will not become competitive unless we meet modern challenges. Everything should be done to ensure the digital transformation of enterprises and to give them maximum assistance,” he said.
Support to IT companies was also highlighted in the video address of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to forum delegates.
“Last year, we spoke on the Innopolis venue about the so-called first package of measures to support the IT industry, which the government has drafted on the orders from the president. Those decisions were important to business. Now, the government has approved the second package of measures for the accelerated development of the IT industry – these are about 60 measures of support to be provided in a variety of areas. They will stimulate the implementation of domestic technologies for business, office software and operating systems, and the development of educational and medical services. Solutions in the field of artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things, and cloud storage services will be used more actively. Additional instruments will be provided to reduce the administrative burden on IT companies. For the first time, our country will have the institution of IT ombudsman. That will help create favorable conditions for the development of such business,” Mikhail Mishustin said.
