The EU will remain Gazprom’s pivotal market in foreseeable future

The EU is preparing for the establishment of the Energy Union. The Union will help to get off the Russian gas. Under such circumstances, "Gazprom" is trying to protect its position in the energy market: the company led by Alexei Miller is establishing the close cooperation with China.

In the short term "Gazprom" stands are on the safe ground, considers Alexander Kurdin, the Head of the Department for Strategic Studies in Energy of the Analytical Center. "The EU will remain the Gazprom’s pivotal market in foreseeable future.  And vice versa. In the next 10-15 years, "Gazprom" will not be able to replace the European consumers”, the expert commented on the situation to the business weekly “Kompaniya”.
