In case of gas pipe line sweep towards Turkey Russian party loss will be minimal

Instead of "South Stream" the RF Ministry of Energy and "Gazprom" must have worked on some other gas pipe line - on the Black Sea bed towards Turkey. As expected, on the Turkish-Greek border line a transfer point will be created and from there gas will be on sale for the EU.

"Loss will be minimal in this case. In Russia, Bulgaria and Serbia some pre-construction work was down but full-scale construction did not start", commented on the situation to "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" the Head of the Department for Strategic Studies in Energy Alexander Kurdin.

This year joint enterprise-operator of the South Stream negotiated some contracts on pipe supply and on 2 gas pipe lines construction on the Black Sea bed, according to the expert. "Its total is about 6 billiard euro, and 2 billiard euro on pipes in particular. "It is debatable what will happen with it as we do not know contracts' terms. Gas pipe line construction towards Turkey enables suppliers' refocus, technically", considers Mr. Kurdin.
