During the first 8 months of 2014 the price of gasoline increased by 6.8 percent, ahead of inflation rate. At the same time over the past few years, the growth of gasoline prices did not exceed inflation. Experts say that the price is pulled upwards by several factors, both short-term and long-term.

In 2014, the excise taxes on gasoline were increased again: their rates are higher than their level in the second half of 2013 by 10-12 percent, depending on the grade of fuel”.
