The European Union is to decide on the new sanctions against Russia these days. The United States have been preparing a new package of sanctions as well. The new restrictive measures are an effort to change Russia’s attitude to the situation in the South-East of Ukraine. But business refuses to play political games. Experts assume that measures aimed at handling the crisis will have a chilling effect on the West and prevent new sanctions.

IA REGNUM quotes the first deputy head of the Analytical Center Vladislav Onischenko who believes that if sanctions are a part of purposeful policy then they will be banned when purposes are achieved due to the sanctions or against them. ‘Unfortunately, it is much easier to impose sanctions than to lift them. There are always those who gain from them and who will resist,’ Onischenko said.
