According to “Parliamentary newspaper” that quotes Alexander Kurdin, Russia’s supply of natural gas is too large at the moment to engage in shale exploitation. “Our country holds the first place in proven gas reserves and the seventh place in largest oil reserves. Thus, according to the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Federal State Statistics Service, oil and gas condensate production reached 523 million tons last year, and natural gas - 668 billion cubic meters”,- said Mr. Kurdin at a roundtable held at the press center of “Parliamentary newspaper”.
