Round Table ‘Systems of interdepartmental interaction and administration for transport’

30 june 2015 at 2 p.m. | Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation, Small Conference Hall

The Transport Strategy of the Russian Federation up to 2030 notes that in the face of increasing global competition, restructure of world economy, expansion of new technologies, national and international freight and passenger flows are changing. With increasingly stringent requirements for the quality of transport services, security and sustainability of the transport system, significant increase of the competitiveness of the Russian transport system should take place. Russia is facing meaningful constraints of economic growth due to insufficient development of the transport system and meeting of the innovative sector’s demand for high-quality of transport and logistics services.

The specific quantity of transport costs in the final cost of the product significantly exceeds the average. The unpredictability of the delivery timing and transport costs associated with downtime and losses, particularly when being transferred from one to the other modes of transport, poor management of freight capacities and transport infrastructure, do not allow the use of the country’s advantageous geographical location to attract transiting, reduce the competitiveness of the Russian transport system and the efficiency of public investments.

The Round Table is aimed to review the level of interdepartmental and interspecific interactions in the transport sector and to generate proposals to improve efficiency of transportation systems management.
