Roundtable “Tariff regulation and RER development in isolated and remote energy systems”

24 march 2015 at 10:00 am | Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation, Small Conference Hall

Following the results of the Government Commission hearings on the socio-economic development of the Russian Far East on December 24, 2014, a task was formulated which presupposes the implementation of amendments to regulations in terms of long-term methods of regulation (at least 5-20 years) of generating and chain organizations operating on the territory of the Russian Far East. These changes should allow considering in energy prices the return of the invested capital and its profitability on territories related to non-price areas and technologically isolated energy systems.

In addition to that on January 23, 2015 a decree of the Government of the Russian Federation №47 was signed. The decree is on issues concerning promoting the use of renewable energy resources (RER) in retail electricity markets. It is also about the development of guidelines for the formation of long-term tariffs for energy sources based on RER, including those in isolated and remote energy systems.

During the roundtable experts will discuss the need in consideration of features of RER projects under isolated and remote power systems, as well as possible effects of approved legislative changes on RER energy development prospects.

Representatives of federal executive authorities, energy companies and expert organizations will take part in the roundtable.
