    The experts discussed what else needs to be changed in national education
    Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation hosted a discussion on the concept of the annual report on the implementation of the state policy in education in 2013, submitted by the Government of the Russian Federation to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The elaboration of this document is provided by Part 2 of Article 3 of the Federal Law “On education in the Russian Federation”

    Tough legislation is needed in energy consumption
    Analytical Center hosted a Сonference on “Legislative initiatives for strengthening payment discipline among energy consumers”. An annual increase in debt for the consumed energy resources has been recorded for the past years. That is why a number of bills aimed at strengthening consumer payment discipline are being presently reviewed.

    On 3 June, 2014 the expert of the Analytical Center Dmitry Khomchenko participated in a scientific and practical conference on “Current issues of development of water utilities sector as an economic entity in the modern legal field”, organized by OJSC “Mosvodocanal” under the support of the Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation.

    Russian gas supply to Europe must remain at the present level
    “We expect that in the future, Crimean gas supply infrastructure will be expanded”, - said the Head of Department for Strategic Studies in Energy at the Analytical Center Alexander Kurdin at a roundtable on “Russian gas policy: Crimean gas infrastructure and gas supply to Europe” which took place at the International Multimedia Press Center "Russia Today". Large-scale works on providing settlements with natural gas are scheduled to begin on 1 June, 2014 in Crimea.

    Experts discussed the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment waste
    On 28-29 May 2014 Analytical Center hosted the International Conference on “Organization of waste management of electrical and electronic equipment in Russia: situation in the industry and prospects for its development”. This event was organized together with UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Waste of Electrical and Electronical Equipment Recyclers Association.

    Purchases of capital-intensive products - obvious solutions for competition organization there don’t exist
    “Antimonopoly Service has no right to interfere in the activities of companies. It is important for us to preserve the competition environment”, stated Head of the Department for Control over Industry and Defence Complex of the FAS Russia Maksim Ovchinnikov during the roundtable. This event was organized due to a couple of so called “pipe cases” with violations of antimonopoly legislation. Many issues were discovered during the analysis of these cases, which will require additional examination as they had an ambiguous consequences and influence over the competition environment.
