Analytical Center examines "health" of Russian business

6 march 2015

The Analytical Center conducts an annual survey of business on the state of the competitive environment March 3 - 29, 2015, to determine the "health" of business in current economic and political conditions of business and investment activities.

An unfavourable economic situation, prevailing in Russia in recent years, exacerbates the need for stable business environment and creation of a healthy competitive environment to maintain incentives for its development. In 2015, setting standards of competition has begun in all regions of Russia. Its provisions are implemented in the pilot mode since the last year in 6 regions - the Republic of Tatarstan, the Khabarovsk Territory, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod and Ulyanovsk regions, St. Petersburg. In 2015, the standard becomes mandatory for all.

"The survey, which we hold, will help to assess the effectiveness of measures of support for Russian business and promoting competition in markets for goods and services in the country, said Tatiana Radchenko, the Head of the Directorate for Competition Policy of the Analytical Center. The opinion of the business will help to identify main factors limiting the development of fair competition, to evaluate dynamics of these factors and the effectiveness of government measures to fight it."

As a result of the survey, advice and suggestions on the formation of mechanisms will be provided, that can help reduce unfair competition and eliminate the factors that negatively affect the competitive environment in Russian markets. A report on the state of the competitive environment, which will be posted on the website of the Analytical Center, will become a public result of the work.

The survey with representatives of business is conducted by the Analytical Center for the second time. Results of the survey in 2014 can be found in the report "Assessment of the competitive environment in Russia."
