"Reserves of energy as they are currently used are nearly outspent and further growth needs a phased move to new system decisions considering modern innovations as well as important regional peculiarities and specifics", the expert of the Analytical Center Evgeny Gasho said at the international conference on urban energy in Ulan Bator.

The international conference “Urban Energy Supply: Innovations and Now-How”, devoted to the 55th anniversary of the oldest heat and energy supplying organization of Mongolia, covered the search of decisions for the sustainable functioning of heat and energy supply of large cities.

Experts from Japan, China, Korea, Denmark, Lithuania, Russia, and Mongolia discussed the current situation, existing challenges and possible ways of addressing them. The key issue was how to find the optimal balance of generating capacities taking into account complicated and sometimes unclear prospects of development of territories and the country so that energy could become the driver of intensive growth of the country.
