Alexander Kurdin: Increase in energy efficiency is a fundamental need for development of Russian industries

Head of the Department for Strategic Studies in Energy of the Analytical Center Alexander Kurdin took part in the international expert discussion on “Russia 2010-2030”, which was held during the period of 13-14May, 2014 at Moscow School of Management “Skolkovo”.

The discussion was organized by the Brazilian business school Fundacao Dom Cabral together with the metallurgical company CBMM (Companhia Brasileira de Metalurgia e Minerasao) within the frameworks of the project of the Global Industry Transformation. The same expert panel discussions were held in Brazil, India and China.

The main goal of this project is to prepare the forecast for long term industrial development in the largest developing countries, based on the car industry and its related economic sectors. The event was attended by representatives of the Development Center of the National Research University - Higher School of Economics (HSE), Institute for Transport Economies and Transport Policy of the HSE, Institute for Energy Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and experts in metallurgical industry.

Alexander Kurdin made a report on the development of the Russia’s Energy Strategy up to 2030, in which he noted the importance of the energy efficiency increase of the Russian economy in industrial development.
