The Student Olympiad Kvazar started on February 12. Its participants will test their knowledge and skills in the field of project management. Organizers invite the third-year and fourth-year students from universities of Russia and CIS countries.
The Olympiad consists of 3 stages. The first stage implies the collection of applications. At the second, qualifying, stage, participants will undergo computer testing based on the certification tasks of the national certification PM STANDARD.
The third final stage will be held as a business game on April 20, 2018 in Moscow at the premises of the Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation and will conclude the Olympiad.
"Each participant will take on the role of a real project manager and will be responsible for the results of the teamwork," the organizers explained. The manager and his/her team will make decisions under time constraints and will defend them publicly. The teams will go through all project stages and will look for a way out of difficult situations related to risks and uncertainty.
"Much that happens in our life can be called projects," said Konstantin Noskov, Head of the Analytical Center and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Olympiad. "For example, studying in a university is a project, because it has a term of 4 or 5 years, the goal is to master one or another specialty, control points are tests and exams, and you manage this project yourself." Participation in the Olympiad is an excellent opportunity to get to know those who are inspired by the project management, try their hand in practice and prepare to work on real projects.
The Analytical Center hosts the 5th annual competition for professional project management Project Olympus. In 2018, the scope of the competition will expand: new nominations will appear, a number of activities related to the project management will be held under the auspices of the Project Olympus. Kvazar Olympiad will be one of them.
The organizers are sure that the Olympiad will both support the future specialists of the project management and contribute to the development of educational programs in this area.
