“Alongside making real advances in sustainability enterprises need to raise awareness about their work in the field,” said Yevgeny Gasho, an expert of the Analytical Center, during the visiting session of the Commission on Environmental Policy of the Moscow City Duma.

According to the expert, city enterprises are actively involved in renovations, they cut emissions and waste production, so the situation is getting better.

People are becoming more environment-oriented. There were hundreds and thousands of proposals on amendments to the Moscow Environmental Strategy, as well as heated discussions on the ‘Environment sustainability and renovation’ topic.

“Environmental sustainability should not be used as a bargaining chip in politics,” emphasized Mr. Gasho. “That is why we need to shape positive information policy, and in every possible way raise awareness about policies in this sector”

Visiting session of the Commission on Environmental Policy of the Moscow City Duma took place at one of large enterprises manufacturing cables. Previously those sessions took place at different energy-consuming enterprises of which the Moscow Refinery, Mosvodokanal etc.
