The workgroup of the Expert Council for the Government of the Russian Federation has announced the winners and laureates of the competition for the best design of the citizen guide to budget at its meeting today. The competition was launched by the Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation in September 2013.
The competition holders, the Ministry of Finances of the Russian Federation, the Open Government and PriceWaterhouseCoopers being among them, looked for best ways to represent the budget so that to make information on public finance management open and accessible to people.
The competition's terms and conditions set no particular requirements on its deliverables, so these could be websites, website sections, infographics, brochures, mobile applications, online calculators or even cartoons.
Total of 95 applications were received, including 57 submitted by individuals, 9 submitted by legal entities, 3 submitted by foreign experts, 23 submitted by regional authorities, and 3 submitted by city authorities. The competition committee reviewed all applications to choose the winners and laureates who were then awarded at the meeting of the workgroup of the Expert Council for the Government of the Russian Federation on December 5. Vladislav Onischenko, First Deputy Director General of the Analytical Center, presented them with certificates of participation, diplomas and souvenirs.
