26th January saw the announcement of the winners in the Best Research Tools 2016 contest. The official award ceremony took place at the Analytical Center during the Information Analytics Tools in Public Management conference.
"The contest achieved its goal which was to find the best information analytics tools that can improve the quality of management decisions made by public authorities as well as help put the decision making process on firmer grounds," said the Head of Department for Information Technologies of the Analytical Center Alexander Malakhov, opening the award ceremony. More than 50 applications were submitted to the contest. They are all listed in the almanac that can serve as a kind of a catalog of modern information analytics solutions.
The first places in the 6 nominations went to:
The IQPLATFORM information analytics business intelligence platform (Iqmen IBC JSC) and the Brand Analysis system for monitoring social media and mass media mentions (Platinum Lab LLC) in the Best Research Tools for Processing Unstructured Data nomination;
The Urban Planning information analytics system (ITP Grad LLC) in the Best Research Solution for Processing Spatial Data nomination;
Interactive Data Visualization Platform (IDVP Consortium) in the Best Research Solution for the Visualization of Data and Decision Making Process nomination: Manager's workstation
The Simple Forms comprehensive system for the automation of the work of field services of research companies (Great Company LLC)in the Best Research Solution for Conducting and Assessing the Results of Sociological Studies;
The comprehensive support of supervision and oversight research system ( Asteros JSC) in the Best Research Solution for Supervision and Oversight
The Public Transport and Mobile Services Automated Dispatch System (MKU Tumengortrans) in the Best Research Solution for Managing Urban and Commuter Public Transport
A special diploma for the best research tool for supporting a comprehensive decision making process at the regional level was awarded to SPB GUP 'SPB IAZ' for a software solution titled Bank of Models for the Short and Medium Term Forecasting of Socio-Economic Development. Another special diploma for the Best Comprehensive Solution for the Automation of Supervision and Oversight Processes at the Regional Level was awarded to Bingo-Soft LLC for their Accent information systems designer.
"Global experience tells us that it is often state initiatives that give a powerful impetus to the digital transformation of the economy and society in general. The contest held by the Analytical Center was a great opportunity for IT companies to better understand the specific needs and tasks facing public authorities and modify their offerings accordingly. We're proud that we beat the competition and got recognition from a competent panel," noted Edward Churkin, Deputy Head of Public Sector Department at the Asteros group, which won first prize in one of the nominations.
