Previous strategies are not implemented, plans and priorities indicated contradict economic practices, the law 'On strategic planning' does not work. In these circumstances, the Government works on a 'Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the Russian Federation up to 2030', which should reflect the new direction of development.

'Kommersant' asked renowned Russian economists how they saw the future of the country.

'In my opinion, we are trapped in the middle of development. It is very hard to jump from our 15 thousand dollars per capita to 25 thousand dollars- the level, at which the developed world lives. Especially now, when real consumer consumption, accumulation and government spending fell strongly - by 6-10% of GDP ,' Leonid Grigoriev, the Chief Adviser of the Head of the Analytical Center, commented on the situation.

The expert is sure that sanctions will last forever and oil will not be as expensive, as it was before. 'We will face many difficulties, we will have to adapt,' says Mr Grigoriev.
