According to the expert, this is a major undertaking that involves the construction of several buildings. "The medical cluster will include medical schools, offer medical training and support to every element of the healthcare system that exists in the North Caucasus regions to ensure their organic integration into the project," Mr. Rezvanov said. The expert is sure that this project is going to have special significance not just for Karachaevo-Cherkessia but for the entire North Caucasus and Russia as a whole.

The innovative medical cluster is a project that has federal significance and that aims to capitalize on the unique properties of the North Caucasus mineral waters while offering treatment, rehabilitation and educational services. Once this project has been implemented, high tech medical services will become available to the public while also promoting medical tourism in the North Caucasus.

For the first time, this project was presented on June 16, 2016, at the KMV during the 20th international economic forum in Saint Petersburg. After that the Russian Government included the project in the state program for the development of the North Caucasus Federal District through 2025. On the whole, it is estimated that some RUB 162.1 billion will be invested in the project.
